Summer Camps

We currently offer two summer camp programs that operate out of Cardiff Lake in Sturgeon County, just 15 minutes north of St. Albert!

Rainbow Paddle  (ages 8-12)

  • 1-week summer camps filled with fun and adventure where kids explore the lake with qualified instructors

  • Kids learn about four main aspects of recreational paddling sports: safety, technique, sports culture, and appreciation of the environment

Intro to Sprint Paddling  (ages 10-14)

  • 2-week summer camps where kids develop skills and confidence in competitive flat water canoeing and kayaking.

  • Kids paddle daily, building relationships with each other and with the aquatic environment.

  • Participants are introduced to sprint paddling, dragon boat, war canoe and many fun off-water games and activities.

  • Paddlers have opportunities to participate in regattas to demonstrate their skills through community-oriented competitions!

We keep low coach-to-athlete ratios to ensure all participants enjoy an optimal summer camp experience. All canoes, kayaks, paddles and PFDs are supplied for use during camp hours. Campers are required to wear a life jacket at all times while on the water. Campers must be 9 years old during the summer camp session (an exception can be made only for siblings if one of them is 8 and the other is older). No paddling experience is required. Participants must have a minimum swimming ability.
